Beliefs

God

We believe in God as revealed in the Biblical narrative, manifested in the person of Jesus, and present through the Holy Spirit. He is the true authority over heaven and earth, in whom is truth, goodness, mercy, and justice. From him we receive forgiveness of sin, power to overcome temptation, and the knowledge and ability to live as he created us to live.

Bible

We believe the whole Bible to be God's word, so the Bible is authoritative and trustworthy. The Bible tells of God's authority over all creation and of the catastrophe of sin. It also tells us of God's plan to rescue and restore the world and all that is in it. The Bible is the foundation of our faith and serves as an authority in our lives.

Sin

We believe that everyone sins. We sin by nature, and we sin by choice. Sin has disastrous effects on every aspect of life. To sin is to fall short of living as God designed and desires us to live. This is due to not trusting in God's goodness and authority, so the rescue from the power and penalty of sin must come from God.

Death & Resurrection

We believe that Jesus died a voluntary death on the cross for our sins and that he rose from death on the third day. Jesus is revealed as Lord and Savior over all creation through his death and resurrection. We can receive the rescue and restoration that God has promised through him alone.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the free gift of God, which he gives to any and all who will come to him through faith that Jesus is Lord. God alone is able to grant salvation. We are saved from the power and penalty of sin. Through salvation, we are granted the Holy Spirit who enables us to live new lives today and is our security for life with God in his everlasting kingdom.

Church

We believe that Jesus established his church during his earthly ministry. The church is comprised of those who trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, the baptized community of faith who are his disciples, and who are intent on making other disciples of Jesus.

Future

We believe that Jesus will come again in person, bodily and visibly as promised, to fully establish his kingdom on the earth as it is in heaven. He will bring justice and judgment and resurrection to all those whose faith is in Jesus.
