Wednesday House Church

Tonight, we continue in Jeremiah chapter 8. In this chapter, we will find much of the same by way of content that we have seen in Jeremiah thus far. Lies persist, and the people keep believing them. Instead of receiving correction and repenting, the community steeps into despair.

The section opens with images of what people do when they fall, or find they are going the wrong direction. Those who fall stand up. Those who are going the wrong way turn around. This isn't the case for Jerusalem, and it just doesn't make any sense. How can a people who claim to be so wise be so duped?

While this is a question we could ponder about them, it is necessary that we understand that we are just as easily deceived. May it serve to assure that we listen to the voice of our true Prophet, Priest & King, Jesus.
